Det finns tydligen hur mycket som helst från MTV om Nick J & The Administration så jag klumpar ihop allt till detta inlägget.

Nick Jonas took the stage without Kevin and Joe on December 1 at the Grammy nominations concert. It was the first time Jonas Brothers fans had seen him perform without his superstar siblings by his side. But there’s no sibling rivalry here: He has the full support of his bros as he embarks on his side project, Nick Jonas and the Administration.

“They said they really enjoyed watching me perform from that perspective, which was really cool to hear,” said Nick, who will release his LP with the Administration, Who I Am, on February 2.

Not only did he receive rave reviews from his brothers, but he has also heard good things from his fans, who are equally supportive of the solo jaunt. “[My brothers] were so supportive, and they said it was awesome,” he told MTV News. “And they said people in the audience reacted really well, and they heard some great things. And so that was really encouraging.”

Jonas will hit the road with his side project in January, and his big brothers are going to let him have the spotlight. “As far as them coming to shows, I think they definitely will. They’ve already talked about coming to the Wiltern [in Los Angeles] and the Beacon [in New York],” he said. “They also want to give me my time to do my thing out on the road, but they’re going to be there supporting me as well.”

Nick Jonas is a pretty busy and ambitious 17-year-old. Being a part of an already successful band with his brothers, Kevin and Joe, wasn’t enough for him — he went and started a side project with some of Prince’s old bandmates and Jonas producer, Jon Fields, called Nick Jonas and the Administration.

On February 2, the band is set to release their debut album, Who I Am, and Nick, who named the band after his “fascination with the president,” told us that writing for the solo jaunt wasn’t as hard as you might think. “It would have been difficult if I [were] trying too hard. … These were just pouring out of me, and it wasn’t like, ‘I’ve gotta write these songs for this project.’ It just happened,” he explained to MTV News. “It was an easier process. It ended up being a fun, cool challenge.”

While he was writing the 10 tracks that would make the final cut for the Administration album, he knew they weren’t destined to be the next Jonas Brothers LP, so he headed into the studio to record them without his brothers by his side. He’s quite excited by the magic that took place in those eight days in a Nashville recording studio.

“It was definitely different, I think — starting to write the record I realized stylistically these songs were different than the Jonas Brothers sound,” he explained. “And I met with our producer, John Fields, and I said, ‘Look I got all these songs that I’m writing and I think it would be cool to go and make a side project.’ ”

Nick describes the result as “a real, raw rock record,” adding, “It’s kind of hard to believe it’s all happening now.”

Burbank, CA – Nick Jonas (of the Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum selling Jonas Brothers)  & The Administration announced tour dates for their upcoming tour.  The dates kick off January 2, 2010 in Dallas at House of Blues and wind up January 30 in Berkeley, CA at Zellerbach Auditorium.  The shows will be intimate in their setting, reflecting the more raw and powerful feel of their upcoming album, Who I Am, which is due out February 2 on Hollywood Records.  Tickets are set to go on sale starting December 5 on LiveNation.com in select cities with fan club presale access beginning tomorrow. Earlier this year, Nick flew to Nashville’s Blackbird Studios with 3 years worth of song ideas not quite right for the Jonas Brothers, and recorded his side project, Who I Am.  He enlisted producer John Fields, and they quickly pulled together an “A-Team” of musicians, which they gave the moniker “The Administration.”  The Administration is made up of some of the world’s most accomplished musicians. John Fields plays bass, and he’s joined by drummer Michael Bland and keyboardist Tommy Barbarella, both of whom played in the New Power Generation.  Though guitarist David Ryan Harris played on the album, another former NPG member, Sonny Thompson will join Nick & The Administration on tour.  Fans can catch a glimpse of their dynamic performance on the Grammy Nominations Concert Live! Special airing Wednesday, December 2 on CBS at 9PM.

The tour will feature the songs from Nick Jonas & The Administration’s Who I Am as well as some surprise cover songs and a handful of Jonas Brothers songs that are personal to Nick.  Says Nick Jonas, “With this tour we’re going to try to accomplish the same thing we did in the studio.  That’s capturing some heart and soul in the music, and having fun doing it.”

S-Curve recording artist Diane Birch will be the featured special guest (www.dianebirch.com).  Diane’s critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Bible Belt’ is in stores now.

An exclusive performance by Nick Jonas & The Administration has been added to the lineup for ”The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music’s Biggest Night,” a one-hour special which will take place live on Dec. 2 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. Nick Jonas, one-third of the GRAMMY-nominated Jonas Brothers, and his new side project will be introduced by his brothers Kevin and Joe.

USA Today har en ganska lång artikel om Nick och hans soloprojekt.

Double duty: Nick Jonas isn't leaving the Jonas Brothers, just adding a side project, the Administration.

Nick Jonas & the Administration kommer ge ut albumet Who I am (samma namn som första singeln) den 2 Februari.

Den 2 December kommer de att spela första singeln Who I am live på the Grammy Nominations Concert.

De andra medlemmarna i bandet är Michael Bland som spelar trummor och Tommy Barbarella som spelar Keyboard, båda två har spelat i New Power Generation. Gitarristen David Ryan Harris spelade på albumet, men en tredje medlem ur bandet New Power Generation, Sonny Thompson, kommer att spela gitarr när de gör live shower.

Nick beskrivet sounded på skivan som ”Hjärta & Själ.” ”Det är en blandning mellan mina rötter i R&B och soul med lite rock/pop musik bakom.”

Några av låtarna kommer att heta The Rose Garden, Olive & An Arrow, Conspiracy Theory och State of Emergency.

Låten World War III, från Jonas Brothers nyaste album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, var från början tänk att vara en Administration song. Albumet Who I Am innehåller en remake av Jonas Brothers hit Tonight.
